Virtual instrumenation Lab
Virtual Instrumentation is the use of customizable software and modular measurement hardware to create user-defined measurement systems, called Virtual Instruments. The main focus of the Lab is Modeling and Simulation of Virtual Real Time Systems. Traditional hardware instrumentation systems are made up of pre-defined hardware components, such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes that are completely specific to their stimulus, analysis, or measurement function. Because of their hard-coded function, these systems are more limited in their versatility than virtual instrumentation systems. The primary difference between hardware instrumentation and virtual instrumentation is that software is used to replace a large amount of hardware. The software enables complex and expensive hardware to be replaced by already purchased computer hardware; e.g. analog to digital converter can act as a hardware complement of a virtual oscilloscope, a potentiostat enables frequency response acquisition and analysis in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy with Virtual Instrumentation. The main software's included in the Virtual Instrumentation Lab are NI LabView, MATLAB/SIMULINK, etc..
Process Control Lab
The Process Control Laboratory installed at a cost of about Rs. 60 lakhs has application in the areas of Programmable logic controllers ('PLCs'), Distributed control system (DCS) supervisory controller and data Acquisition System (SCADA) which take over the absolute control of various Stations like the Batch Process Station, Bottle Filling System, Water Level Controller, Speed Control, Computer Controlled Processes like flow, pressure, level and temperature, to mention a few. It is equipped with recent trends applied in industries like smart transmitters, Closed Loop Pressure Control Station, Pneumatic controllers, DSP processor, Feed Forward Controller, Ratio controllers and cascaded control systems, Spectrum Analyzer and latest Processors with advanced software. The facilities of the laboratories have been enhanced with the addition of new equipment like Interacting and Non-Interacting Trainer Kit, Digital PID Controller, Analog PID Controller, Cascade Ratio Control trainer for Flow Level Process Monitoring and Feed Forward Controller. Students are also trained to design and implement controllers for different processes.
Industrial Instrumentation Lab
The purpose of training in this lab is to impart an adequate knowledge and expertise to handle equipment generally available in an industry. The training gained by the student in this area will be of immerse help and ease for him in any industrial establishment. It is to impart practical training to the students in the field of calibrating pressure gauges, transducers switches and indicators etc.
Transducer Laboratory is equipped with modern measurement instrumentation equipments, which helps the students to study different mechanism of measurement of Temperature, pressure, density, humidity, displacement, force, speed, torque, stress etc. Students learn to measure as well as develop the skill to calibrate the temperature and pressure gauges etc.
To introduce the technology, design concepts and testing of Very Large Scale Integrated Circuits. To learn the basic CMOS circuits. To learn the CMOS process technology. To learn techniques of chip design using programmable devices. To learn the concepts of designing VLSI subsystems. To learn the concepts of modeling a digital system using Hardware Description Language.
